You Are Your Best Thing: Vulnerability, Shame Resilience, and the Black Experience Edited by Burke and Brown
It began as a text between two companions. Tarana Burke, author of the 'me too.' Movement, messaged scientist and essayist, Brenâe Brown,. Tarana's welcome was not kidding and she wavered for a piece prior to sharing how Brenâe influenced her work so profoundly. It had been an immense blessing in her life. Yet, as a Black woman, she felt that once in a while she needed to reshape herself to find a way into a portion of Brown's words. The center and core were valid, however the application had been more of a challenge. Brenâe was happy to discuss this. Burke and Brown are the ideal pair to introduce this unmistakable, strong assortment of articles on Black experience. Alongside additional authors, they make a space to perceive and deal with the injury of racial oppression, a space to be defenseless and certify the completion of Black love and Black life.
