It debuted in 1939 and has been re-printed over 13 times. It is a mini-encyclopedia of herbal treatments, natural health, food preparation, and skills for caring for the sick. "Back to Eden" by Jethro Kloss is almost 900 pages and only $9.95. Some chapters include:

Here's an interesting excerpt, p. 562:
"During the time of the severe epidemic of influenza this country suffered following World War I, a doctor published a paper saying that if people would use large quantities of orange juice, fever would be allayed and the patient would recover. It was found by practical experience to bring good results. This caused the price of oranges to jump from $3 or $4 per box to between #18 and $25....due to demand. The growers offered all they had on hand to the government and the hospitals. Their offer was not accepted, however, because the officials of the food commission said that due to the small supply it would not be worthwhile. They said it was better to let the individuals that could afford to buy the oranges have them for they would not go far in large institutions. But there was a great lesson in this for the people; if they would only use fruit juices to help cure all fevers, what a blessing it would be to mankind."

I remember getting pneumonia twice as a child and orange juice coming to rescue me off the death bed. I've found it important to dilute at least by half with water because it can be quite acidic straight. Hibiscus flowers tea has also proven quite useful for me.
