what to read after watching black panther

Our hearts still earthquake-ache, after the death of Chadwick Boseman... may he rest in power eternally.

In Reflection...
3 little girls came skipping into the bookstore after having watched Black Panther and asked, "is Wakanda a real place? because I want to go there."
Their eyes bright...
Smiles filled with hope...
Full of energy...
before I could answer they were telling me what they were going to do when they got there...
Chadwick Boseman was a part of a moment in time when interest in Africa, African People, and African ideas was boosted by untold leaps and bounds. He was a part of building newer bridges across the waters between Africans at home and abroad.
What big shoes he filled.
Libations in honor of a life well lived. Choosing his roles wisely and bringing them to life through his craft.
I totally geeked out on the movie Black Panther...
Pictured below is my passport from Wakanda.
One day I'll see those young girls and Chadwick there again.
Yes, Wakanda is a place. It represents an ideal we are striving for, as one big African family around the world. And we are prouder than ever to be a part.

As I was saying to a friend after Chadwick Boseman's transition, it made me crave even more books on this awesome movie that captured our imaginations.  Here are a few:
