2022 MLK DAY OF SERVICE IDEAS AND ACTIONS

Last year (2021) the community successfully supported our online Reading and Art Therapy Supplies Project for MLK Day of Service.  So that we’re continuing to safely conform to COVID19 guidelines,  for 2022, we are working with Oakwood Shores located in the Bronzeville Neighborhood institution to direct donations.

​ONLINE READING AND ART THERAPY SUPPLIES PROJECT

​Oakwood Shores is located in the Bronzeville Neighborhood in Chicago. Formally known as the Ida B Wells Housing Project, Oakwood Shores is now a mixed income housing property that houses about 1500 residents, about 500 of those residents are youth. We want to gift them with African- American Literature (ages birth to 16) that represents and celebrates their identity, heritage and culture.
